A business-use digital camera for use at worksites, featuring enhanced intranet data management, wireless communications and security functions

The RICOH G900SE is a business-use digital camera designed to be highly resistant to water, dust, shock and chemicals. It’s ideal for use in demanding worksites subject to rain, dust and dirt, and in industries such as construction, disaster relief and healthcare. It supports Bluetooth® and wireless LAN connections, and is compatible with NFC (Near Field Communication) cards (FeliCa-, Mifare- and ISO1443-standard, Type A/B non-contact IC cards).

Introduced as the successor to the popular RICOH G800SE (launched in November 2014), the RICOH G900SE has been designed as the function-expanded sister model of the RICOH G900, a camera also being released today. It will be marketed mainly through RICOH’s OA products sales channels.

While upgrading the compatibility of Camera Memo functions and security features, the camera also incorporates a host of new data management functions requested by G800SE users, including: (1) use of a computer-encrypted digital certificate compatible with the Enterprise Wi-Fi system; (2) export of original XML data files; and (3) upgraded camera management features, such as firmware updates and camera setting changes via intranet.

The RICOH G900SE is a digital image-capture, image-management tool highly effective at high-security worksites, infrastructure facilities engaged in electricity, gas and water supplies and road maintenance, disaster relief sites, and public institutions such as local governments, police, fire stations and hospitals.

 

  • Built-in Bluetooth® and wireless LAN
    The camera features built-in Bluetooth® version 3.0/4.2 BLE and wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4/5 GHz, features that can be used for high-speed wireless connections not only to computers but also to smartphones and other devices. The camera even supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup™) for easy wireless setup and can receive location data from external GPS devices compatible with Bluetooth® version 3.0/4.2.
  • Enterprise Wi-Fi support
    The RICOH G900SE supports IEEE 802.1x Wi-Fi authentication, a highly secure method that uses credentials supplied by a RADIUS server.
  • Export original XML data
    The bundled EX2 application software can be used to export data in the highly-portable XML format for improved file-sharing.
  • Password protection restricts access to a variety of camera functions
    Password-protect access to any or all camera features, including camera controls, menu access, internal memory viewing, and USB connection. Choose separate administrator and user passwords for greater control over security. Access can be granted by scanning a password barcode or entering the password using the camera’s onscreen keyboard.
  • Seamlessly manage cameras on in-house networks
    Cameras can be managed in-house or on in-house networks. Update firmware simultaneously on multiple cameras and otherwise reduce administrator workload and improve system integration. The same tasks can also be performed using SD memory cards.
  • Support for contactless Near-Field Communication (NFC) IC cards
    The camera supports MIFARE, FeliCa, and ISO1443 TypeA/B contactless NFC cards, letting users unlock the camera simply by tapping it with a card. Card data can be linked to camera memos so that the camera can, for example, retrieve the user’s name from a previously-prepared list and record it when tapped with a company ID card.
